Essex County Council want to know your views on our proposal to expand Shorefields SEND School through the provision of a new teaching block. The new single storey teaching accommodation will provide level entry access, two new class bases, each with a dedicated break-out room, toilets, new play equipment and 8 additional car parking spaces to accommodate an additional 9 students, as well as creating greater capacity for recent growth in numbers, for January 2026. The new block will provide fit -for-purpose teaching accommodation to improve capacity for children and young people from 3-19 years with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties in the locality. I invite you to let me have your views on this proposal. All the views expressed will be taken into account by the Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability when he decides whether to publish a statutory notice about the expansion.
