On Monday 21st July 2 of your Parish Councillors attended one of the Cheif Inspector's Tour dates at Great Bentley Village Hall. Below is a summary of some of the points picked up from this meeting:

7 new neighborhood police officers will be employed in Tendring. These will be based in Harwich.

There were 18,000 crimes in Tendring of which 2500 were in Piers Avenue in Clacton

305 crimes in Weeley and Little Clacton down 2.8% on the previous year, the lowest area for crime

Speeding was raised as a concern from all areas, 31 deaths in Essex this year only 2 in Tendring. Some councils have purchased and implemented their own speed reduction systems.

Custody suite in Clacton has closed and all prisoners are now taken to Colchester
