The Council would like to thank all villagers and their families who turned up for the Christmas Tree Lighting Event this year despite the weather.
The event started at 4pm and at this point the rain miraculously ceased and the winds died down so the event could go ahead. The Christmas Tree dedicated to Nick Alexander looked beautiful as the lights were turned on.
The children were able to post their letters to Santa via Mrs Christmas who was there for the children to visit and receive some selection boxes (Courtesy of Weeley Residents Association) and this year we also had a Christmas themed children's roundabout paid for by Weeley Parish Council.
Green Cow were on hand again to provide free hot drinks for everyone and any donations received were passed on to Nick Alexander Music Trust.
As usual we were surprised to see a bus come trundling along despite the road closure, but, this now almost seems part of the celebrations. Luckily the driver was dextrous enough to turn the bus around and divert around the event.
Thanks must go out to all the Councillors, Mrs Christmas, WRA and Green Cow for all their help and time in putting on the event and supporting it every year.
Below are a couple of pictures from the event.
