A consultation has been launched to give residents the chance to share their thoughts, before Cabinet make their final decision, on the Council’s initial proposals for a series of highlight priorities for 2025/26.

Unveiling of Napoleonic Soldier Statue

15 January 2025

On Saturday January 11th Weeley in Bloom were delighted to unveil a life size figure of a soldier from the Napoleonic times on the site at Second Avenue. Beautifully carved by Rusty, Marnic Wood Carving, the figure is to honour this part of Weeley’s heritage, now that the Hospital and Barracks field are being built on. It will hopefully be a reminder of those times, and inform residents and visitors about this part of Weeley’s past. The History Board to accompany the figure was compiled by Rob Butcher and the Weeley History Group. Planting is being planned around the structures in the spring.

Update from North Falls Offshore Wind Farm

23 December 2024

Hello

On 10 December 2024, the Planning Inspectorate issued a Rule 6 letter. This letter outlined a draft Examination timetable, introduced the Examining Authority, included a Notification of Hearings, invited Interested Parties to a Preliminary Meeting, and set out an Initial Assessment of Principal Issues prepared by the Examining Authority.

In response to this, the Project has issued a Rule 13 letter, in accordance with Section 93 of the Planning Act 2008, providing notification of a forthcoming hearing. This letter is included in full below.

This public consultation is an opportunity for Parish and Town Councils, landowners, members of the public and other interested parties to submit non-designated heritage assets to the Council for future consideration.
